To be yourself. We are all unique and we all have something to offer the world and it makes me so sad to hear so often that people don’t feel skinny enough, strong enough, instagram worthy enough….. you are YOU and that is enough, because no one else can offer that. The old saying goes that “comparison is the thief of joy” and it’s something I have to remind myself of on a daily basis, but it’s true. Embark on the journey to be healthier, fitter and stronger for YOU and do it YOUR way. Be inspired by bloggers and friends and social media and celebrities along the way, but focus on the destination, enjoy the journey and rock it in your own style!

RK : First of all, thanks a lot for accepting our invitation for an interview. Please say something about you. About your career as a fashion influencer . How did you get started?

Asmita Arora : Thanks a lot for giving me such a wonderful platform to share my journey with your readers . Well I think this is a job that you only get out of the blue. You don’t really make the conscious decision to become a fashion influencer. You build a persona that enables all your followers to dream & that's exactly what happened with me . I started writing and posting about my fitness and fashion journey that inspired a lot of people .

RK : You have an exceptionally unique look. Where does your style savvy come from, and where do you get your inspiration?

Asmita Arora : Thanks a lot ! Well In the age of digital and constant over stimulation, it's tough to remember everything we see in a day or what source/destination our inspiration comes from. I just go for anything that I feel comfortable in and feel that suits my body type the best.

RK : Do you see yourself as an “influencer”, and if so, what does that mean to you?

Asmita Arora : Well frankly I dislike the word " influencer" . I would rather say that I’m a fashion & fitness content producer as the word Influencer has confusing definition. After all, what really defines being an influencer? Is it your number of followers? I’d argue there are plenty of influential people with small, niche following. I just want to inspire and make people genuinely happy when they visit my page / blog /handles .

RK : When did you start blogging/ social media, and what was your motivation for getting started? How do you get involved with your followers and find the best way to give them the content they want?

Asmita Arora : It was a spontaneous decision I made three years ago, right after my graduation. I started using Instagram actively two and a half years ago and loved posting about my fitness routine, healthy recipes, outfits and other fashion related things a lot. As I liked doing it so much I thought, hey why not to have an actual blog and that's how I came up with www.asmitarora.com . I make sure to interact with my followers on a regular basis through comments , QnAs , Dms , mails etc. I do my best to reply to their questions on fashion & fitness dilemmas.

RK : When was your first collaboration with a brand?

Asmita Arora : It was with a YouTube channel I believe and that too a paid one .

RK : What has been your best fashion purchase ever?

Asmita Arora : All the bralettes hanging in my closet ! They can be styled in so many different ways and look extremely sexy !

RK : If you had to name one thing, what would be your favorite thing in your wardrobe right now?

Asmita Arora : At the moment it has to be my little backless white dress as it is extremely comfortable, perfect for summers and it extremely flattering on my body .

RK : What are the three essential elements of fashion that every girl should have?

Asmita Arora : Every woman – regardless of age, body shape, or overall style – should own a pair of black pumps , a classy blazer and a classic white shirt. Dressed up or down, they always look classic and on-trend.

RK : How do you stay in Shape?

Asmita Arora : I try and eat healthy whenever I am home and make sure to hit the gym at least five times a week .

RK : Do you have any Beauty/Skin Care tips or Tricks to look fresh and rested for early morning Photo shoot?

Asmita Arora : Sleep on time and avoid salt intake for dinner .

RK : Being a Diet Consultant, If you could persuade people to change three things about their diet, what would they be?

Asmita Arora :

1) Carbs aren't bad but make sure to match Carb Intake to Your Metabolic Health and Activity Levels

2) Eat more protein

3) Eat everything but keep portions in check. Reaching for a smaller plate may be the easiest thing you can do for a healthier diet.

RK : What are some of the most common nutritional mistakes you observe?

Asmita Arora : It's absolutely random but I fail to understand why people get rid of egg yolk . Eggs are the most nutritious and the yolk carries most of the nutrients. I can't say about other things but Egg is your friend ! WHOLE OF IT.

RK : What are your thoughts about fasting as a dietary technique?

Asmita Arora : Well intermittent fasting really helps but other techniques that are basically one step up from starvation really irritate me, because they ultimately do people more harm than good. Not eating depletes your body of vitamins and nutrients, makes you sluggish and lethargic, and actually sends your body into starvation mode which slows down your metabolism – the exact opposite of what you need it to do to lose weight.

RK : Give us 5 fun facts people might not know about you yet.

Asmita Arora : Umm they might not be one but here you go

1) I am lactose intolerant

2) I have failed my driving test thrice

3) I am claustrophobic

4) I hate clubbing , drinking or smoking !

5) I am extremely dominating.
