Renowned Dutch photographer and filmmaker Bas Hordijk has been honored as the 'Iconic International Photographer' and will be a guest exhibitor at the AURA 2024 - International Photography & Art Exhibition. Organized by Retro Kolkata Magazine, this prestigious event is scheduled to take place at Nazrul Tirtha, Newtown, Kolkata, from January 13 to January 21, 2024.
The event will commence with the art exhibition from January 13 to January 15, followed by the photography exhibition from January 18 to January 20, and culminate in a grand felicitation ceremony on January 21.
Bas Hordijk, a graduate of the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU), is celebrated for his exceptional talent in capturing the subtle interplay of the human figure within its environment. His works often portray moments of romance and delicacy amidst the hustle of daily life. Hordijk's eye for composition has earned him widespread acclaim, both in the Netherlands and internationally.
His short film 'Morning Blue' (2018) won the 'Join the Journey Award' at the NASA-organized international Project Mars Competition. In 2019, Hordijk's graduation film 'Perspective' garnered the Filmfonds Wildcard at the Nederlands Film Festival in Utrecht, a significant recognition that will fund his upcoming short film.
