Dr. Srimanta Ray, an esteemed Associate Professor of Bengali literature at Government Degree College, Gandachara, Tripura, has been honored with a nomination as an exhibitor for the upcoming 'AURA 2024 - International Photography & Art Exhibition'. This prestigious event, organized by Retro Kolkata Magazine, is scheduled to be held at Nazrul Tirtha, Newtown, Kolkata, from January 13 to January 21, 2024.
The exhibition, showcasing a blend of art and photography, will commence with an art display from January 13 to 15, followed by a photography exhibition from January 18 to 20. The event will conclude with a felicitation ceremony on January 21.
Dr. Ray, who describes himself as a photo-lover rather than a photographer, has a profound passion for photography, considering it his love, lesson, and life. His unique perspective focuses on capturing the essence of nature and the candid moments of everyday life. Over the past year and a half, Dr. Ray's work has gained significant recognition, with more than 120 projects published in various international glamour and fashion magazines.
Notably, a photo taken by Dr. Ray at Unakoti was recently selected for display at the Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi to commemorate World Photography Day. His accolades also include an Honorable Mention in the IPA photography contest 2022, a Bronze medal, and two Honorable Mentions in the BIFA photography contest.
Dr. Ray's primary motive through his photography is to represent India on the global stage, showcasing the rich cultural and natural beauty of the country. His participation in 'AURA 2024' is expected to be a highlight of the event, drawing art and photography enthusiasts from across the nation and beyond.
