Retro Kolkata : Please say something about you. About your career, about your interest?

Devang : I am Devang from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and my roots are from Rajasthan. I love exploring new cities, meeting new people and to know about different cultures and traditions. I did my bachelor's and post that I was working as a social media manager, while working I got to know that I can showcase my passion through a platform and hence the journey of "Ghumakkaddog" started. 4 years back I didn't knew I could achieve so much (though I'm still in the learning phase and a lot needs to be achieve and explore)

Retro Kolkata : How did you get started with traveling? What inspired you to start travelling?

Devang : Since my childhood I used to love exploring and travelling but coming from a business family it was not possible everytime that we could go on a family trip or something. The first trip that I did alone was after my class 10th exams to Bengaluru at my uncle's place which helped me gain confidence in travelling solo, and post that trip I made up my mind to travel and explore more without depending on anyone.

Retro Kolkata : How do you fund your travel (savings/work whilst travelling/other)?

Devang : I do savings for travelling and I spend the major part of my income on travelling. The best part is that I feel happy about it and it gives me confidence to work and earn more. Also because of my page I get Staycations in various renowned as well hence that helps lowering my expenditure on stays etc.

Retro Kolkata : Have you ever travelled solo, was it what you expected?

Devang : Yes I do solo travelling and I really love it because I can explore places as per my wish. People say that solo travelling is boring but according to me it is not because you get to know yourself and you face all the challenges while travelling by yourself.

Retro Kolkata : Tell us about one of your most memorable adventures, and the impact it had on you

Devang : December 2021 was one of the best time of my life since I got selected by Gujarat Tourism to promote the Rann Utsav at Kutch, it was one of the best and the most memorable trip of my life. Rann Utsav was on my list since years but I didn't knew that it will get ticked off in this way. The best part was when I saw the white salt dessert through my eyes, I just cannot forget that moment. Also I got to see the vibrant Gujarat, the culture, traditions and much more. I just cannot forget that trip I was an experience of a lifetime for me.

Retro Kolkata : How has travel changed who you are? What has travel taught you?

Devang : Everytime I visit a new place I get to learn something new. Travel has taught me to be kind with anyone and everyone you meet in any phase of your life , you never know who will help you out when you are into any problems. Travelling has taught me to do things on my own without getting dependent on anyone hence enhancing me overall as a person. I was more of an introvert earlier but now I really love connecting with people and know their stories.
