Pradipta Chakraborty, a first-year MCA student from Baruipur, Kolkata, has been nominated as the Exhibitor for 'AURA 2024 - International Photography & Art Exhibition'. This prestigious event, organized by Retro Kolkata Magazine, is scheduled to be held at Nazrul Tirtha, Newtown, Kolkata, from January 13 to January 21, 2024.
The event will showcase two main exhibitions: an art exhibition from January 13 to January 15 and a photography exhibition from January 18 to January 20. The event will conclude with a felicitation ceremony on January 21.
Chakraborty, a passionate photographer, has expressed immense joy and gratitude upon receiving this opportunity. Emphasizing his journey in photography as a choice rather than a profession, Chakraborty remains committed to honing his skills, drawing inspiration from other notable photographers.
One of Chakraborty's selected photographs for the exhibition holds deep emotional significance. The photograph, captured on a casual stroll through Kumartuli, depicts an old man's loving and careful craftsmanship as he brings to life a figurine of Maa Durga. Despite the cluttered, poorly lit surroundings with plastic-covered figurines, the man's unwavering focus and affection are palpable. This image not only represents the spirit of Durga Puja, a central celebration in Bengal, but also embodies the essence of passion and dedication.
Chakraborty's selection for 'AURA 2024' is a testament to his skill and perspective as a photographer. The exhibition promises to be a platform where art and emotion converge, showcasing the talents of emerging artists like Chakraborty.
