Renowned street photographer and educator Raj Sarkar has been honored as the 'Iconic International Photographer' and will be a guest exhibitor at the much-anticipated 'AURA 2024 - International Photography & Art Exhibition'. This prestigious event, organized by Retro Kolkata Magazine, is scheduled to take place at Nazrul Tirtha, Newtown, Kolkata, from January 13 to January 21, 2024.
AURA 2024 promises to be a grand showcase of artistic talent, with the art exhibition running from January 13 to January 15, followed by the photography exhibition from January 18 to January 20. The event will culminate in a grand felicitation ceremony on January 21.
Raj Sarkar, a Fujifilm X Photographer, is widely recognized for his contributions to street photography. He is a member of the Beyond Border Collective, founder of the World Photographic Forum, a curator for APF magazine's street photography section, and a consulting editor for Indian Photo Art Magazine. Sarkar's educational endeavors include delivering lectures at prestigious institutions like IIM, Xavier University, and Union Chappell school, along with conducting numerous workshops focused on street photography.
Sarkar's accolades are numerous. Recently, he emerged as the winner of the International Puskar Mela Contest and the Wiplay Photo contest. He was also a finalist in the Garuda World Photo Contest and HIPA, with his work receiving global exhibition exposure.
His articles and photographs have been featured in leading international publications and websites, including Fujilove, Street Photography Magazine (USA), Viewfind, APF Magazine, Smart Photography, Better Photography, Asian Photography, Chiiz magazine, Saveus, 121 clicks, and National Geographic. His recent showcases at the London Street Photography Festival and the Indian Photo Festival have been widely acclaimed.
In addition to his photographic achievements, Sarkar played a vital role as an executive member of the Kolkata International Photography Festival 2019 (KIPF) and as a portfolio reviewer in the street category.
