Retro Kolkata : Please say something about your career as a Fashion Model & Influencer. How did you get started?
Tanya : While growing up, I have always heard this and seen this that girls can't do this, girls should wear this and so on. Girls were never given freedom to do the things of their own choice and I always wanted to do something for all the women out there and for myself. Being from a family where no one would have ever thought of such a career, it was really difficult for me to tell my parents that I want to make my career in the glamour world. But I think if at that time I had not courageously told my parents about my dream, I would hardly have reached here today and I am lucky to have the best parents who are always there for me no matter what the situation is. I had a dream since childhood to work in films. But it was not so easy for me to work in films because I had no relation with the industry, so I started off my career with modelling because I think modelling is the best option for an outsider like me, but honestly both the fields are completely different from each other. I started modelling as an option but as soon as I entered the fashion world it becomes my life. I have started my modelling career in the year 2019 with my first 'Miss India Fame' beauty pageant where I was crowned second runner up. I have won many beauty titles from different beauty pageants like Miss India Fame 2019 2nd RU, Miss Meerut 2020 1st RU, Miss Internet Fame Face 2020 (Top 6), Miss Stylish 2020, The Queen of Rajwada 2020 and Miss Glorious Eyes 2021. I am the only model from Meerut who won maximum number of beauty titles. Although I first went to Delhi for a modelling audition in 2018, but was refused citing my young age. I have also worked as a female lead in many music videos. I have judged modelling shows as well. I have got several awards like 'The Pride of India Award, Wow Star Award 2022', and many more for the work done by me in the field of modelling and acting. I have got coverage in several prestigious Bollywood magazines as well, including Enlighten India Bollywood Magazine, Lavafaramedia Magazine, Grehlakshmi Magazine, The Eagle Eye Magazine And P & I Magazine. I have been appointed as the 'Brand Endorser' for Women Personal Hygiene Brand 'Femiss'. I feel privileged to take over all the roles and responsibilities. I have also worked with many top Jewellery and Clothing brand. For me the highest point of my career is when recently i received the award of 'WOW STAR 2022' by 'Wow Skin Science India' in Mumbai. This has made me more confident and hardworking towards my work. It is not a small thing to come Mumbai without having any contact in the industry. I have worked really hard to reach this point. The way i have started my journey being a complete outsider to recently bagging the award in Mumbai is something that has helped me in breaking the stereotypes. I do not come from a filmy background then also i have proved myself that yes i can do it and I'll do it. The credit for my success goes to my parents, they always supported me in my thick and thin times. I am literally blessed by the best parents. Before completely roping into modelling i was a 'Fashion Influencer'. I have collaborated with more than 100 brands including international brands like Mikkados and many more. I was very fond of dressing since childhood, I love wearing sarees. I believe that the beauty of a girl increases thrice in a saree.
Retro Kolkata : What is that specific moment in your life which lit the spark in you to become a model?
Tanya : My Journey started when one day I saw an advertisement of a modelling show in the newspaper and I thought I should give a try. When I cleared the audition that's when I realized yes now this is what I have to do. And since then I haven't looked back.
Retro Kolkata : Where does your style savvy come from, and where do you get your inspiration?
Tanya : My inspiration would be Deepika Padukone because the way she carries herself so beautifully in every outfit from Indian to Western she is a Style Icon in herself.
Retro Kolkata : Tell us about your fashion mantra? Any fashion icons that you personally like or follow?
Tanya : My Fashion Mantra is very simple i love to wear what makes me feel comfortable while looking beautiful. My Fashion Icon is definitely again Deepika Padukone.
Retro Kolkata : What has been your best fashion purchase ever? What have been the greatest challenges you’ve faced in your career so far and as per your opinion, what are the main challenges in the fashion industry today?
Tanya : When I purchased a Dress for a beauty pageant's evening gown round and it turns out to be my winning gown. As I come from an orthodox family so modelling or acting was never a career choice but somehow I convinced my parents but there came a time when I didn't have work for months because of which I was completely broken I started wondering what was I am doing? Sitting ideal and doing nothing. I can't wait for an opportunity to come instead I have to make my own way because if i want to be somewhere after some years then for that goal I have to work for my own self no one else can do that for me. But I never give up because I knew not today, not tomorrow or not day after tomorrow but one day I am going to be at the place I have dreamed of. Challenges are still the same feel as it was before and the talent of the small towns gets hardly any opportunity because the competition is still in huge number and the opportunities are still less because of which most of the talent stay unseen and unheard.
Retro Kolkata : If you had to name one thing, what would be your favourite thing in your wardrobe right now?
Tanya : Saree, all time favourite.
Retro Kolkata : What are your three favourite trends at the moment?
Tanya : Bright bags, Shinny things and Oversized shirts.
Retro Kolkata : What are your top five beauty essentials?
Tanya : BB cream, Loose Powder, Kajal, Lip & Cheek Tint and Face Mist.
Retro Kolkata : What three products do you always keep in your makeup bag?
Tanya : Face Wash, Moisturizer and Lip Balm.

One of my favourite things to do is writing.
My perfect day would start with Tea and end with Tea.
If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be a Hill Station because the kind of peace you get there is speechless.
My favourite comfort food is Daal Chawal.
My favourite subject in school was English.
