RK : First of all thanks a lot for accepting our invitation for an interview. it’s a great pleasure to have you as our Guest. Let’s start from the first question… Let's jump into the past. What was your dream since you were a kid? …what would you like to do?
Sana Dua : Thanks for having me over. It's a pleasure.
Well as a child your heart is like a butterfly which wants to travel & explore so much. There were these times I would tell everyone I wanna be Miss India, then times when I used to tell people I wanted to cure animals, then become a doctor & what not!
RK : You are the girl who fueled her dreams to make it a reality! An inspiration to all the common girls who dream of being a queen! Heartiest congratulations on winning the first runner up title at Femina Miss India 2017, How does it feel to win the title? Has the feeling sunk in yet?
Sana Dua : Thanks! Haha of course. It's been sometime now & of course I do know the value this title carries with it & I'm elated to have been the chosen one.
RK : What was the first thought that came to your mind when they announced your name as the first runner up?
Sana Dua : I looked at my parents, it's like they lived that dream with me, all the hard work finally paid off!
RK : Did you always want to be a beauty queen? If not a beauty queen what would you be?
Sana Dua : Well, yes as a child for a lot of years this is all I wanted to be, but eventually the dream got lost & reality hit. If not a beauty queen, I would be found in the courts because I am infact a lawyer.
RK : Apart from glamour world, you are an Indian lawyer and has also been declared the Face of Election Commission Jammu & Kashmir for Lok Sabha Election 2019 by ECI , who or what has helped you to evolve your dynamic personality? Did it come naturally to you or someone motivated you to channelize your diverse passion?
Sana Dua : It's just been in me. I don't wanna do what everyone is doing. No offense, I mean, bollywood is not the only path to choose Post Miss India girls ! There's so much more to you! I have been associated to a lot of social causes and when this opportunity came across there was no chance of me not taking it up!
RK : Being a girl with relatively no modeling background, how did you manage to face the challenges that came your way in the journey of Miss India contest?
Sana Dua : Aah! It was pretty tough! Tell me about it, I've done shows for free! It was pretty hard, i failed numerous times before I made it, so definitely I didn't have ANYONE to guide me, but ‘jiska koi nai hota unka bhagwan hota hai!’ So a lot of people kept coming along, to help & guide me towards things, and of course I've worked really hard to be where I am.
RK : Having been involved in the Fashion Scene, do you think there’s anything about the Indian beauty pageant scene and the modeling scene that needs to change ?
Sana Dua : Definitely! I feel like what's very important to consider in the field of modelling is all sizes. The fact the Indian Modelling Industry is still not very open to plus size models is quite saddening!
RK : You have represented India at Miss United Continents 2017 and made it to the top 10. How was your experience ?
Sana Dua : I wouldn't say much, just that it was the best my life could give me.
RK : What pros and cons did you experience while coming from Jammu & Kashmir to the modeling and pageant world?
Sana Dua : Well, I would say it's not been a bed of roses. The path has been tough also because people are just not open to the field of glamour. In my extended family too, people have had reservations with regards to the industry and initially it was tough to get the support I needed.
Pros of course are that once I made it- it was bigger news than it would have been in any other state because it changed perceptions and opened so many opportunities for so many people!
RK : Where do you see yourself five years down the lane? Any future plan for entering into Bollywood industry?
Sana Dua : Like I said- there's more to me.
RK : What is your mantra to not give up in life and not to give in to any peer/external pressure?
Sana Dua : Lows & highs make life, so if there is a low today- know that you're supposed to enter a high soon!
RK : Give us a fun fact people might not know about you yet.
Sana Dua : I love to play pranks!
RK : Any message to all the aspiring girls who dreams to be successful in Indian beauty pageant scene?
Sana Dua : Give wings to your dreams!
