Exclusive Interview with Retro Kolkata Influencer of the Year Award Winner Sayani Pradhan

I get my inspiration from all of them who love to create.. As for my looks, it has been inherited from my mom and dad. (Laugh). I believe in being unique and feel everyone should have his own things. That's the thought where it came from to be honest.

RK : First of all, Heartiest congratulations on winning the Retro Kolkata Lifestyle Influencer of the year Award. How does it feel to win the award?

Sayani Pradhan : Thanks a lot. I am still over the moon for the same. Many thanks to everyone from RETRO KOLKATA. It feels like I am very special at the moment. To get recognized is something everyone wants. Thanks a lot for serving me with that.

RK : What was the first thought that came to your mind when we announced your name as the Award winner?

Sayani Pradhan : I was ecstatic. To be honest, I didn't think I would win this. But as I know this happened, I could not stop tears to come into my eyes. I will really cherish that moment, forever.

RK : Do you see yourself as an “Blogger & influencer”, and if so, what does that mean to you?

Sayani Pradhan : From very childhood, I was very much interactive and had a wish to become a person who would make an impact. As I did grow up, that will become more and more intense. I think blogging should be handled quite responsibly as many people are following you. I am very much optimistic that I will do good works.

RK : When did you start blogging/ social media, and what was your motivation for getting started?

Sayani Pradhan : I have started this last year. As I mentioned earlier, I always wanted to make an impact with my work. So that was the thing going on my mind back then...

RK : You have an exceptionally unique look. Where does your style savvy come from, and where do you get your inspiration?

Sayani Pradhan : I get my inspiration from all of them who love to create.. As for my looks, it has been inherited from my mom and dad. (Laugh). I believe in being unique and feel everyone should have his own things. That's the thought where it came from to be honest.

RK : How do you get involved with your followers and find the best way to give them the content they want?

Sayani Pradhan : Many of my followers personally text me on inbox, I read all the comments. So I try to go accordingly.


RK : In your opinion, How important are ethical standards for the fashion bloggers & influencers?

Sayani Pradhan : To me, ethics are the most important asset. Yes, it has to be there in every influencers.

RK : Where do you see yourself five years down the lane? Any future plan?

Sayani Pradhan : Many changes have taken place. Yes.. many nostalgias are there. To be honest, no plans are as such. Just want to enjoy my work.

RK : Do you have any Beauty/Skin Care tips or Tricks to look fresh and rested for early morning Photo shoot?

Sayani Pradhan : As I am very lazy, I don't usually schedule my shoots at the early morning, but yes, I love being staying natural.

RK : Did you always want to be a beauty queen? If not a beauty queen what would you be?

Sayani Pradhan : Who doesn't want to be beautiful? I was not any exception. As I grew up, got a lot of praises from friends and families. To be honest then it was like "ye dil maange more" and this is where I am now by god's grace.


RK : What’s your beauty regime? Would you like to share some of your best beauty secrets?

Sayani Pradhan : I don’t do anything as such to maintain my beauty. But yes, I use to apply moisturizer on my skin before I go to bed at night and I also use Vaseline or lip balm on my lips.

RK : If you had to name one thing, what would be your favorite thing in your wardrobe right now?

Sayani Pradhan : My grand mom once gifted me a nice Salwar suit. Well I am little superstitious about that dress and I keep that on my wardrobe always as I believe that to be my lucky charm for my exams.


RK : Give us 5 fun facts people might not know about you yet.

Sayani Pradhan : a) Most of the people who see me across the internet might not have known that I am very short tempered (Laugh) I even use to shout whenever I find someone irritates me twice. But then get to laugh automatically.

b) I am very much sleep lover. Even I sleep at the bus while going to my university.

c) I love to travel so much and for that, sometimes, I keep going here and there without telling my mom. When she finds it, I get little cute beating from her.

d) I love to eat. One can find me any other day on Dhabas and restaurants.

RK : We (Retro Kolkata) are trying to build one single stage for all the artists, because we believe that artists are the most beautiful creation of God and geographical boundary can never break their unity and harmony. Please say something about our initiative and any special message for your followers.

Sayani Pradhan : First of all I would like to thank Retro Kolkata for giving me this platform. You guys are doing fabulous work and I will always extend my support towards this initiative.
